Cadiz vs. Manchester United live stream, lineups for mid-season friendly
Manchester United ramp up their preparations for the return of England's domestic footballing calendar later this month, with the Red Devils heading to Spain for a week-long training camp.
They'll play two friendlies while based in Andalusia in the south-west of the country, the first of which is against La Liga side Cadiz.
The Red Devils' first competitive game back will be against Burnley on Wednesday, December 21 in the EFL Cup fourth round, before returning to Premier League action against Nottingham Forest six days later, and this friendly will give Erik ten Hag a good insight into how well-prepared his side are for the restart.
United's form picked up after a poor start to the season, but the weeks prior to the World Cup break saw them win only half of their last eight games, losing two of these to currently sit fifth in the table. However, with these friendlies against Cadiz and Real Betis coming up amidst a month-long break from the frenetic week-to-week environment of the Premier League, Ten Hag will have full faith in his side resuming their campaign strongly.
It's been a different story for United's opponents, Cadiz, who sit second bottom of the table in La Liga with just 11 points. However, with just one player — Australia's Awer Mabil — away on World Cup duty, the Spanish side have a nearly full squad to use in this friendly, and they'll be hoping this match acts as positive preparation for what's set to be a tough second half of the season.
